This is the cover of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, a book that I’ve been meaning to read for so long but haven’t. Not quite sure why. I took it with me as one of reading choices whenever I went away for a weekend or a holiday, but somehow other things always won the place for my selection.
As I was not feeling like doing anything strenuous today, trying to beat the stupid flu bug, again I picked this book from my bed side table and thought this is it, this would be the day I read the book. As soon as I sat on the couch however, I realized how special the texture of the book was. (I bought the whole series for Hubby’s Christmas present two years ago and especially picked the ones with the beautiful cloth covers).
Intrigued by the book cover’s texture I picked up my iPhone and took a photo of the cover. It’s a tricky surface to capture with the rough/matte background and shiny golden detail in the middle.
Now I’m feeling quite tired I think I’ll just lie down in front of TV. I think the book has an no-read spell that repels me from reading it.

this is a great image – and absolutely captures what you were trying to achieve. smooth dragon, but the cover is otherwise full of texture.
