My final post of this year’s 52 Portrait project is here. A day late, but that’s okay. I’m sure you’d understand one’s need to sleep after staying up longer, having too much fun with friends and family, who gathered together in the last hours of 2014. Allow me to share some of the things I feel grateful for in the year 2014 (don’t worry, I have a lot of things I am grateful for, but I am only sharing the […]
Christmas eve in my house was a bit of chaos. Unlike most people in Australia, our family open our Christmas presents in Christmas eve. Right after mass, and after enjoying our precious time eating scrumptious dinner together as a family, then it was time for us to open our presents. In my head that worked perfectly. In reality, it was a total chaos. Right after we got home, the begging started, and promises were made to open only one present […]
This portrait was taken from my last photo gig of this year. I was lucky with this client because she was so lovely and a joy to work with. Her smile came so naturally and look at those beautiful eyes, she made my job so easy. A perfect project to end 2014.
My mermaid, and her little mermaid friends in the background, performing Mermaids from the Peter Pan story. It was a cute 5 minutes performance to mark the end of these little cuties ballet ‘journey’ for the year. To have this high voltage of cuteness in tutus running around had really brightened my day and lifted my spirit up, despite the hard pouring rain outside. Tutus FTW!
30 Nov 2014. A cuddle in the early birthday morning, when you still smell like sleep, when teeth haven’t met brush&toothpaste, and when everyone was wearing what they were wearing the night before. It’s the best kind of birthday cuddles of all.
Mother and Son. This beautiful capture of this lovely mom and her boy was taken when we were all hanging out having coffee together, sitting outside and enjoying the spring weather. For some reason I had my camera with me, though armed only with the 50mm lens, which I haven’t used for a long time, and I kinda missed. You just never know when a good light suddenly hits you, or great tender moment like this happens. They come so […]
The boy who never really liked to have his photo taken, well at least not by me, was a totally different person today. Not only playing with me, he posed, checked how it turned out in the camera, and posed some more. It’s a Happy Day!
The Annual Nara Candle Festival was on last Saturday. Before I continue this blog, let me just tell you that I forgot to charge my camera battery that day, and left with a flat battery 10 minutes after we arrived. So, just to manage expectation here, there will be no beautiful candle glow at night shots. None. There were a lot of things happening at the festival even before it got dark. There were art martial demonstrations (there were many […]
For the past few years I’ve been meaning to visit the Tulip Top Garden. Only this year we finally managed to go there. The garden opens for roughly one month long every year, so I felt lucky we ‘caught’ it in time this year. The garden was beautiful, the flowers were gorgeous -the tulips looked so vibrant and healthy- and even the weather was kind to us that day. The flowers in the garden provided a very colourful and perfect […]
Portraits of family in the ‘wild’. This was our first camping since last summer (January 2014), so it’s been awhile; and it seemed that everyone was missing it. The time spent outdoor was enjoyed to the max. Dog especially loved to bask in the morning light.
