Today’s post features two of my favorite trees. They are two completely different trees, as you can see above. I have posted a photo of each tree in previous months, but again, as they are my favorites, they will be featured probably many more times than you like or care. The bald tree I see everyday during the weekdays as it was located between my kids’ two schools. I took this photo around 9AM after the school drop-off, when the […]

Consider today’s post is a bumper post, or my sick day edition (hopefully we have minimal of these days this year). As I am still feeling blaah and totally not up to taking any photos today, I posted a photo I took during my photo walk last Anzac Day (25 April). This was (what used to be) a grassy ground in one of the parking areas near Acton park. The grass has all dried up and made pretty by the […]

It’s still autumn here in Canberra and I have already started to notice the challenges I was about to face going into the colder months. Winter means three things: shorter days, colder days and dark. I need to get more organised with my days so that I can get more shots using natural lights during daylight, and it is inevitable that I have to be extra creative with experiments/project using artificial lighting indoors. I can, of course, venture the world […]

Rose petals covered steps they were not. They looked pretty special indeed that I could not help but think of colourful flowers people decorate the church or the steps outside the church with at weddings. Well, these are not that kind of steps. And those colourful things you see on them were not flowers. Not flowers, you read right. They were the fallen leaves from nearby trees. These steps were located in a parking lot close to Acton park that […]

How lovely it was to be back home and found that most of the green trees have changed colours. Someone told me that the reason most of the trees in Canberra are changing colours in autumn is because they are not native Australian trees. These trees were imported from Europe, and Australian trees don’t change colours. I don’t know whether that’s true, I might google it at a later date, but one thing for sure, I LOVE it. I’m grateful […]
