Portrait Project – 50/52

December 27, 2014 by [ayu]

This portrait was taken from my last photo gig of this year. I was lucky with this client because she was so lovely and a joy to work with. Her smile came so naturally and look at those beautiful eyes, she made my job so easy. A perfect project to end 2014.

Portrait Project – 45/52

November 13, 2014 by [ayu]

Mother and Son. This beautiful capture of this lovely mom and her boy was taken when we were all hanging out having coffee together, sitting outside and enjoying the spring weather. For some reason I had my camera with me, though armed only with the 50mm lens, which I haven’t used for a long time, and I kinda missed. You just  never know when a good light suddenly hits you, or great tender moment like this happens. They come so […]

This week’s portrait is a semi throwback edition. It’s a new look of an old image that I love.

Portrait Project – 23/52

June 10, 2014 by [ayu]

My precious hearts. I ‘asked’ these three to drop everything and to stay together in one spot for an impromptu after dinner photo shoot. I just remember I don’t have a picture of them together, and I would like to have one. One good one. Well, dog had nothing in particular that he had to do, so that was kinda interesting how bored he looked, couldn’t tell what his problem was. My kids, on the other hand, was a different matter. There were […]

Portrait Project – 21/52

May 27, 2014 by [ayu]

“If he thought at all, but I don’t believe he ever thought, it was that he and his shadow, when brought near each other, would join like drops of water, and when they did not he was appalled. He tried to stick it on with soap from the bathroom, but that also failed.” Peter Pan by James M Barrie I could not help but thinking of Peter Pan and his shadow while watching Ms. 6 (and her shadow) twirling around, […]

Portrait Project -19/52

May 13, 2014 by [ayu]

If someone asks me at the end of my portrait project, who is the most impressive and memorable person that I have taken photograph of this year, this special lady, Butet Manurung, would be one of my top five. If you meet Butet in person without knowing her story, it would be hard to imagine the huge foot-prints of goodness that this pint-size lady has left in her trail. She is a force to be reckoned with. She has tracked through […]

Portrait Project – 10/52

March 8, 2014 by [ayu]

I’ve been wanting so long to try on taking pictures underwater. Last week, I finally got the chance to do it. Using my daughter’s red Lumix* camera (her christmas present from last year), the three of us had tremendous fun goofin’ around taking photos in our backyard pool. I took close to a hundred photos that day, but I think only ONE (shown above) I really like. In the photo, the light was perfect, no excessive bubbles around that could […]

52 Portrait Project – 9/52

March 2, 2014 by [ayu]

This week’s portraits were all about my family in a lazy Sunday morning. It’s one of those Sundays when despite the great weather outside you are happy enough just to be home, around each other, and do…well, practically nothing that has any objective or significant goal. It’s interesting to see the various reactions each one gave me to my photo taking today. I’m happy with the result as it shows each family member’s characteristic quite well.

Day 296 #Project365

October 22, 2012 by [ayu]

I was out of bribe, so I was grateful for this book that made Mr 8 sit still and totally engross in it that he did not mind me sitting down in front of him and just clicked away. Nikon D90 | AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED | ISO1600* | f/6.3 | 1/100 * I forgot to set the ISO back after some earlier shots, that’s how I ended up with such high ISO. Lucky the shot works, even when […]
