Mother and Son. This beautiful capture of this lovely mom and her boy was taken when we were all hanging out having coffee together, sitting outside and enjoying the spring weather. For some reason I had my camera with me, though armed only with the 50mm lens, which I haven’t used for a long time, and I kinda missed. You just never know when a good light suddenly hits you, or great tender moment like this happens. They come so […]
The boy who never really liked to have his photo taken, well at least not by me, was a totally different person today. Not only playing with me, he posed, checked how it turned out in the camera, and posed some more. It’s a Happy Day!
The Annual Nara Candle Festival was on last Saturday. Before I continue this blog, let me just tell you that I forgot to charge my camera battery that day, and left with a flat battery 10 minutes after we arrived. So, just to manage expectation here, there will be no beautiful candle glow at night shots. None. There were a lot of things happening at the festival even before it got dark. There were art martial demonstrations (there were many […]
School holiday happens. Routines get interrupted, and we all just have to find a way to deal. No post last week just meant two posts this week! Here’s a portrait of a vintage clad model casually reading a magazine at the Forage two weeks ago.
The series of images in this post was taken last week during the school’s book week. This year, my gal chose to be Pearlie, from the series of Pearlie books by Wendy Harmer. Like me, she was really into details. She wanted to be as closed as physically possible to look like Pearlie, the sassy fairy. Blond hair, check. Long pearl necklace, check. Excessive accessories on body parts other than neck, check. Fairy wings, check. High boots, check. Gotta love book week! […]
First of all, please take note that I am posting week 33 portrait, in week 33. I have finally caught up. Yay to me! No more backed-up posts! It’s a semi mammoth effort, but I made it, folks, and I thank you for your patience. This week’s post is to highlight the celebration of Indonesia’s Independence Day. The 69th celebration was taken place at the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra. A formal ceremony was held, and there was singing (of Indonesian hymns […]
My boy (10 y.o), the swim school graduate. Boy, has he come a long way. I remember having to coax him to enter the pool to start his first swimming lesson. He was only 3 years old. This portrait was taken after he finished his last (and obligatory) 1000m freestyle to graduate. I am a super-duper proud mom.
Indonesia Presidential Election 2014 is just around the corner. Literally. On the 5th of July, Indonesians in Canberra will head to our embassy to cast our vote, to use our right to choose our president (and vice president) for the next five years; ahead from people in Indonesia, who will vote on the 9th of July. This blog is not a political blog, it never is. It is still a photoblog, but for this week’s portrait project, I’m happy to dedicate […]
