Day 309 #Project365

November 4, 2012 by [ayu]

Nikon D90 | AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED | ISO160 | f/16 | 1/160 | I haven’t seen a wonderful cloud formation like today for a long time. I was so psyched I was out to capture it. Today was a brilliant sunny day in Canberra. These images were taken at the Ferry Terminal, Acton Park. Nikon D90 | AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED | ISO160 | f/16 | 1/200 |

Day 214 #Project365

August 1, 2012 by [ayu]

The cold wind bites in the morning but the day turns out sunny and beautiful, as forecasted. I spent longer time outdoor, about three hours more (!) than I liked or intended thanks to a bunch of 4 year olds who had too much fun running around after school (and around school) and refused to go home. A short picnic after school was how it started. Usually we finish around 1 then we, kids and parental units, go our […]

Day 185 #Project365

July 3, 2012 by [ayu]

I’m not going to post a photo that I took today for today’s post. This one I took two weeks ago in Sydney and I’ve been ‘working on it’ for a couple of hours for my (long overdue) homework that it feels like I took this one just today, and it deserved to be shared today considering the time we spent together. My homework this time was all about colours. Understanding the colours, how they work and how they affect […]

Day 115 #Project365

April 24, 2012 by [ayu]

If I had not see it myself I would not believe that the sky looked like this today. The day was wet and cold most of the day. The rain stopped late afternoon and I went outside before the sun went down and it still looked a bit cloudy.  I first noticed the clouds from the funny reflection they made on my dirty swimming pool. I couldn’t make out what the reflection was until I looked up.  What a wonderful […]

My Favourite Scenery

March 29, 2012 by [ayu]

There is this road in Canberra that –fortunately is one of the many routes between my house and the city– called Lady Denman Drive. What I like about this road is the fact that the surrounding area alongside it is so scenic. Of course, it is a matter of opinion, I am sure other people find this road as nothing special. Roughly in the middle its long winding way we have to cross a bridge, which basically a dam, called […]

Day 88 #Project365

March 28, 2012 by [ayu]

To see the sun after the whole morning of rain and gloom was really nice. I was driving home when I realised even the clouds looked lovely. They looked beautiful in their colors and shapes. It was the perfect timing at the right place. This spot became another one of my favourite spots in Canberra. I parked in the same spot I took my first Canberra sunset. The sun was a bit too high up for another sunset shot, but […]

Day 73 #Project365

March 13, 2012 by [ayu]

Finally! I’ve been wanting to stop and standing here to take landscape photos. I was at the Scrivener Dam. If it’s not because of the photography assignment that I want to submit this week I wouldn’t get to this place. This was the easiest part of the assignment of a really horrible module. The idea was to take a landscape photo and apply the sunny f/16 rule in a very sunny day. The rule basically just a way of estimating […]

A cyclist friend of mine once said, the best way to get to know a city is by cycling around that city, because you see can see more of everything. Today I finally understood. We cycled for an hour and a half today, and boy, it’s so true that you can see more. So only for today, instead of the usual one photo per day, I will post extra photos. Happy 50th day of the year!

This is the view that I’ve been missing. Last year I came to the lake at least twice a week to run. It’s my place if I want to run 5K or 10K. Less than 5 or in between 5 to 10km I run around my neighborhood. One round around the lake is roughly 5 kilometer, that’s the one of the reasons I do it like this. I haven’t been going the past months due to the school holiday, it […]

Day 35 #Project365

February 4, 2012 by [ayu]

Not a lot to say today, I just want to share this sunny view! The sun was shinning, the sky was blue with patches of clouds everywhere. And yes, we are cleaning the pool, hopefully it stays the same weather tomorrow so we can have a bit of play in the water. Fingers crossed!

Day 24 #Project365

January 24, 2012 by [ayu]

This is the North side. Canberra is divided into the North and the South side (in my outmost simplistic way). It takes you 20 minutes to go anywhere in Canberra. Even if its not true that’s what people would tell you anyway. I live closer to the South side so journey to the North side is infrequent, except for this week. Dropping off my dog to the kennel tomorrow will make it my 3rd time to the Northern part this […]

Day 17 #Project365

January 17, 2012 by [ayu]

This is my favorite road in Canberra, it’s called Lady Denman Drive. I just find everything I see alongside the road is beautiful, that’s why I love taking this scenic route whenever I can. The rows of trees, the bridge, the faraway hills, and clouds, everything! And the look is always changing as the season changes. Today was a brilliant day, we finally got to enjoy a nice summer day. I stopped on the road side just to take this […]
