Portrait Project – 21/52

May 27, 2014 by [ayu]

“If he thought at all, but I don’t believe he ever thought, it was that he and his shadow, when brought near each other, would join like drops of water, and when they did not he was appalled. He tried to stick it on with soap from the bathroom, but that also failed.” Peter Pan by James M Barrie I could not help but thinking of Peter Pan and his shadow while watching Ms. 6 (and her shadow) twirling around, […]

Day 285 #Project365

October 11, 2012 by [ayu]

In this wet day we found ourselves landed in a place of pink and purple. Never thought that such place exists, oh but it does. Flowers and mushrooms seemed to be the chosen plants, while rainbows and stars could be seen (almost) in every corner. I was lucky enough to capture this flying fairy before she went off and joined her giggling/dancing/hopping friends. Nikon D90 | AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G | ISO500 | f/1.8 | 1/125 |

Day 281 #Project365

October 7, 2012 by [ayu]

This was not her ‘nicest’ expression but it sure was one of the cheeky ones. And she has loads of them. Glad I captured this in what seemed like an ‘off’ day today. Nothing, photography wise, seemed to go right. Ms 4 here was in her (half) dress rehearsal for a dance performance next week with the other baby butterflies. Six more sleep to go … Nikon D90 | AF-S Nikkor 18-105mm 1:3.5-5.6G ED | ISO2500 | f/5 | 1/40 […]

Day 210 #Project365

July 28, 2012 by [ayu]

Capturing the motion was what I aimed for with this shot. At Ms 4’s friends’ birthday party today I was pleasantly surrounded by dancing girls. They were twirling, hopping, skipping to the music, it was lovely to see. I took the opportunity to learn how to capture their motion with my camera. The attempt was to keep the body (and hopefully head) sharp, while the tutu a bit blurry because of the swirling movement. I am quite happy with this […]
