After what felt like a century of waiting to get well, I finally felt fit enough to go running this morning. It was cloudy, and pretty chilly, but I knew it was nothing compared to the colder mornings to come. It felt good to be able to go outside and run again. I did a ‘cake walk’ with a couple of friends today. It’s walking around the lake Burley Griffin, around 5K or so, followed by (a bowl of) coffee and cake in Bookplate Cafe at the National Library, thus the name cake walk. The views captured were of the lake (d’oh!), Black Mountain Tower (just a speck in the pic), the National Carillon (http://www.carillon.org.au/), and some gigantic paintings inside the lobby of National Library.
