I was reading up for some ideas for my post today. I was reading a wide variety of photography techniques you can do in creating portraits. So many interesting ideas out there, which I’m sure I will visit again in the future, but in this wet Sunday, taking portraits using low light caught my intention. I decided to use a single candle light to be the sole light source of my portrait today. It was dusk, we were in the room with the […]
To commit myself in the 52 weeks of Portrait Project, I knew that at some point I’d have to do a self portrait just to complete the whole portrait taking for a year experience. I knew I’d have to do it because it would be the most challenging to me, and therefore would be perfect for this project. I call it a big challenge because first of all, I feel less comfortable to stand in front of the camera than […]
I’ve been wanting so long to try on taking pictures underwater. Last week, I finally got the chance to do it. Using my daughter’s red Lumix* camera (her christmas present from last year), the three of us had tremendous fun goofin’ around taking photos in our backyard pool. I took close to a hundred photos that day, but I think only ONE (shown above) I really like. In the photo, the light was perfect, no excessive bubbles around that could […]

It’s one of those Sundays when despite the great weather outside you are happy enough just to be home, around each other, and do…well, practically nothing that has any objective or significant goal. It’s interesting to see the various reactions each one gave me to my photo taking today. I’m happy with the result as it shows each family member’s characteristic quite well.
The Color Run finally came to Canberra. They said it’s the happiest 5K in the planet. Well, looking at this happy face it is hard to deny that claim. What’s more convincing was the fact that this friend of mine is one of the cleanest person I know, so to see her this happy being this ‘dirty’ it sure hell was something! I call this a Unicorn-just-threw-up-rainbow-on-you look.
These lovely girls were prettily dressed in Indonesian traditional costumes yesterday to join the children’s parade at the annual Canberra Multicultural festival. It was such a hot day (around 39 degrees), and the kids had to wait a bit until the adults got organised and started the parade. The portraits show the girls’ happy personality. The heat and the long wait didn’t seem to bother them, and believe me, there were many grumpy/cranky children (and adults) around who were just […]
