Day 358 #Project365

December 23, 2012 by [ayu]

Nikon D90 | AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED | ISO320 | f/4 | 2.0s Before food,  presents, alcohol and general festivity celebrations get in the way, I’d like to use this post to wish you all a lovely Christmas 2012! Give extra long hugs your loved ones , and be grateful of the abundant love you have around you this year. To my loyal readers (especially!), thank you for all your support throughout the year. I honestly didn’t think […]

Day 356 #Project365

December 21, 2012 by [ayu]

Summer holiday is officially started. Today was Mr 8’s last day of school. Also, it was his last day in this school. He is going to a new school starting next year. So yeah, it was kind of big deal. The school had this farewell ‘bang’ at the end of the day to say goodbye to all the Year 6 graduates and those others who will not come back next year. A lot of chanting, screaming, banging and clapping. […]

Day 355 #Project365

December 20, 2012 by [ayu]

My little elf was very helpful and looking very happy in our last day of baking. I love baking, so these pre-Christmas baking days are one of my favourite days in the year. The house smells wonderful with the smell of cookies baking in the oven, and I truly enjoyed listening to the non-stop chatters of my little girl, who broke into Christmas songs every now and then while she dusted the cookies with sugar. My mom did a lot […]

Day 349 #Project365

December 14, 2012 by [ayu]

Nikon D90 | AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G | ISO400 | f/5 | 1/800 | These cute little things are Christmas soaps! Ms 4 received them from her BFF who, with his mom, made these themselves using melt and pour soap and some colours.  That bit of glitter on the yellow one was added especially for her. Nice touch, don’t you think? It’s not Christmas without sparkles..!

Day 348 #Project365

December 13, 2012 by [ayu]

The Mulley Street Yarn-a-thon was today. I’ve written about this event in a post back in August, at the beginning of it. Some of people from the local community, the students of schools involved in the project, even the ACT Chief Minister were there. The gathering was to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the big and horrible bush fire of 2003 in Canberra. The trees and the close surrounding area were, as promised and intended, ‘bombed’with yarns. It’s quite an […]

December 10, 2012 by [ayu]

Nikon D90 | AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G | ISO160 | f/2.8 | 1/6| There is something about twinkling lights that just draw you in. Or maybe that’s just me. And moths.

Day 341 #Project365

December 6, 2012 by [ayu]

Nikon D90 | AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G | ISO400 | f/3.5 | 1/320 | Not many school days left for the year. Not many days left that I get to wait in the car with Ms 4 to pick her brother up from school. She too will start in the big school soon. What big changes we will have next year, and what strange mix feelings I’m having now.

Day 340 #Project365

December 5, 2012 by [ayu]

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… The Christmas tree decoration was today. Elf 01 and elf 02 were working together to help me decorate. Lovely little elves they are, working so well together. I could just watch them for hours…

Day 339 #Project365

December 4, 2012 by [ayu]

Nikon D90 | AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G | ISO500 | f/2 | 1/15 | Despite the intention, our tree is still not up yet. I’m still busy prepping, selecting ornaments, thinking, or making new ornaments, as I always do every year. I probably enjoy this part more than the actual tree decorating. This drives my kids crazy, of course, because all they want to do is to decorate our Christmas tree, especially after looking at all these colourful and sparkly things […]

Day 336 #Project365

December 1, 2012 by [ayu]

We did a day trip to Young for the 2013 National Cherry Picking Festival today. There were loads of happenings there, but the highlights for us, of course, was when we were at the Main Range orchard to pick some cherries ourselves (not all orchards were open for ‘pick yourself’ today). I’ve taken many photos there, but for today’s post I’m just going to share the one I took from my iPhone. It was a full day and I’m totally […]

Day 332 #Project365

November 27, 2012 by [ayu]

Nikon D90 | AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G | ISO400 | f/2.2 | 1/100 | Showers and thunderstorms are what in store for us today at the Nation’s Capital. My strawberry patch and the rest of my green family in the garden are so enjoying this lengthy wet treatment.
