Portrait Project – 45/52

November 13, 2014 by [ayu]

Mother and Son. This beautiful capture of this lovely mom and her boy was taken when we were all hanging out having coffee together, sitting outside and enjoying the spring weather. For some reason I had my camera with me, though armed only with the 50mm lens, which I haven’t used for a long time, and I kinda missed. You just  never know when a good light suddenly hits you, or great tender moment like this happens. They come so […]

Portrait Project – 42/52

October 24, 2014 by [ayu]

For the past few years I’ve been meaning to visit the Tulip Top Garden. Only this year we finally managed to go there. The garden opens for roughly one month long every year, so I felt lucky we ‘caught’ it in time this year. The garden was beautiful, the flowers were gorgeous -the tulips looked so vibrant and healthy- and even the weather was kind to us that day. The flowers in the garden provided a very colourful and perfect […]

Portrait Project – 41/52

Portraits of family in the ‘wild’. This was our first camping since last summer (January 2014), so it’s been awhile; and it seemed that everyone was missing it. The time spent outdoor was enjoyed to the max. Dog especially loved to bask in the morning light.

Portrait Project – 36/52

Basking in the sun, on the first week of beautiful Spring in Canberra. My BFFs, one human and one hairy four-legged one, have definitely bonded.

as far as my eyes can see

Canberra has enjoyed a superb spring to date. It was straight up warmer weather, clear sky, and plenty of sun from the moment the sun was rising on the 1st of September. Everywhere you looked you could see that everything seemed so much brighter, and you, the non-hay fever sufferers you, could happily inhale that fresh spring smell in the air. Some said it was a fake spring, because the weather was really too good to be true. It was […]

Day 334 #Project365

November 29, 2012 by [ayu]

Nikon D90 | AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G | ISO200 | f/4.5 | 1/250 | Day number 333 of 2012 was definitely one of the hottest day in Canberra to date. It’s scary to think it can go hotter, way hotter. The past two summers were ‘fake’, as in not hot at all (cold even), and very very wet, so it came as a shock to the system a bit to experience this kind of heat today. I could go as […]

Day 333 #Project365

November 28, 2012 by [ayu]

It’s a take-photos-from-archive kinda post today, I’m afraid. One child of mine was not feeling too well, it’s very challenging to get more than 3 metres radius away from her, let alone be inspired to take one awesome shot. These pictures were taken a month ago in Melbourne while I was enjoying my Me time there. Now summer is only days away in this part of the world, and I’m looking forward to see more beach scenery like these! Nikon […]

Nikon D90 | AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G | ISO400 | f/2.2 | 1/100 | Showers and thunderstorms are what in store for us today at the Nation’s Capital. My strawberry patch and the rest of my green family in the garden are so enjoying this lengthy wet treatment.

Day 329 #Project365

November 24, 2012 by [ayu]

Nikon D90 | AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED | ISO640 | f/7.1 | 1/30 | Run baby run. When dinner time came and I still did not have any photo for today’s post, I knew it was time to go to the oval and let the kids run free. We missed the perfect golden hour light because it took forever for this family to get ready, so I focused more on the kids’ action while we were at the […]

Day 321 #Project365

November 16, 2012 by [ayu]

To be an impromptu tour guide is an inevitable role when a friend comes from abroad to visit. I was playing that role for my friend earlier this week. I think it is good for us, who live in the visited town, to embrace this role every now and then. I went to places I haven’t been before even after all these years (I thought the inside of the Old Parliament House was quite interesting). At the Cockington Green Garden, […]
