Canberra has enjoyed a superb spring to date. It was straight up warmer weather, clear sky, and plenty of sun from the moment the sun was rising on the 1st of September. Everywhere you looked you could see that everything seemed so much brighter, and you, the non-hay fever sufferers you, could happily inhale that fresh spring smell in the air. Some said it was a fake spring, because the weather was really too good to be true. It was […]

It’s early autumn in Canberra and we are slowly gearing up towards winter. The temperature dropped by two degrees or ten (at nights), and light jackets have started to see the light of days again. I was out walking and enjoying the sun while really savouring the changing colours around me. I love the colours of Canberra around this time of year. This early in autumn, all the leaves with changing colours are pretty much still hanging on tight to […]

This is the scene at Wee Jasper this fine Sunday morning. This has been a super duper packed and fun weekend, so I had no energy left to write anything more here, nor do anything at all anywhere. Be back tomorrow with some renewed energy.

English Garden, Yarralumla. It’s super windy again in Canberra (59 km/hr wind, 80km/hr gusts) so obviously I was attracted to and captured the only things that didn’t move because they stood out so… Photos taken on iPhone

Like it was in autumn when some trees have changed their colours before the rest of them caught on, those -I’m sure they are the same- trees now have decided to spruce up some happy spring colours before spring is officially here. The random patches of colours here and there around town made the windiest month of winter almost bearable. They made the season a bit more -dare I say it- delightful. This winter is soon going to be over, […]

In a windless morning like today the lake was really like a giant mirror. It reflected everything in front of it (or was it on top?) in perfect symmetry. I love water reflection image (maybe) largely because I love symmetrical things. My eyes were drawn to everything symmetrical around the lake today and boy, they were everywhere. Here are the two of many images I captured this glorious morning.

A wonderful fun we had at Lanyon Homestead today. Taken a lot of photos I have indeed. I will not bore you with more words, here are some of the photos I enjoyed taking today. The Drawing Room (The photo has been taken before we were told no photography allowed inside the homestead. Oops!) A very tiny girl? Or very tall trees? Couldn’t say no a beautiful bald tree, could I? Even the spiders made a very impressive web there. […]

I surprised myself today. It turned out that I was not as lazy as I thought I was. Proof in point: I ran today. I woke up nearly noon, and decided to do nothing but reading, or just pottering around the house. Hubby on the other hand already out in the yard as soon as he saw how gorgeous the day was. Happy as a busy bee working around the house he’s always been, especially in good weather day like […]

It’s a good halfway through winter now and I haven’t taken any tree pictures for quite some time. Not sure how did that happen, but I sure missed it. These leafless branches creating a beautiful intricate lace before the bright blue sky was my eyecandy for the day.

Winter is just around the corner. A lot more trees without leaves started to dominate the scenery now. The trees that still have some leaves started to lose their top foliage covering the ground beneath with blankets of autumn coloured dried leaves. Soon they too will be left bare. I was (more) grateful (than usual) for my iPhone today. There I was feeling quite smug about my ‘time management’ that I could stop by Black Mountain Peninsula for a quick photo walk […]
