Day 294 #Project365

October 20, 2012 by [ayu]

Here’s the upside down world seen in the water reflection as we (read: Hubby) washed our deck floor today. The spring cleaning continues… Nikon D90 | AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED | ISO200 | f6.3 | 1/80 |

Day 205 #Project365

July 23, 2012 by [ayu]

In a windless morning like today the lake was really like a giant mirror. It reflected everything in front of it (or was it on top?) in perfect symmetry. I love water reflection image (maybe) largely because I love symmetrical things. My eyes were drawn to everything symmetrical around the lake today and boy, they were everywhere. Here are the two of many images I captured this glorious morning.

Day 202 #Project365

July 20, 2012 by [ayu]

It was a beautiful day today. No wind and almost no ripples on the water. I would’ve liked more clouds in the sky, but this clear blue sky worked as well. This picture was taken from the area behind Yarralumla Nursery. The water reflection was almost the exact mirror image of the scene above it. Oh how I love the color of winter in Canberra.

Day 171 #Project365

June 19, 2012 by [ayu]

Locals always play tourist when visitors around and I was no different. We enjoyed a sunny winter day at the Cockington Green Gardens today. The beautifully landscaped gardens display miniature building sets that offer an interesting view and a nice place to enjoy relaxing walk outdoor. My kids always love coming here, they love the electric train, the play ground with the nice picnic area and the (very short) ‘real’ train rides. The above photo was taken from Israel exhibit […]

Day 128 #Project365

May 7, 2012 by [ayu]

There was one empty pool that was not used at my kids’ swimming school this afternoon. It attracted me so, as I was waiting for the swimming lessons to finish. The water was smooth and reflected everything from the surrounding surface areas. There were lines, symmetry, lights and did I mention the reflection in the water? I had fun playing with this image on my iPhone. I love the drama that the lighting brings. This was a fun shot.

Day 90 #Project 365

March 30, 2012 by [ayu]

I love taking photos of water reflection. I know I took one yesterday, and again today.  Usually I stop myself in taking the same type of photographs or same objects in my daily post, at least not the same things two days in a row. Not because I did not want to take the shot, I still do, it’s just this feeling I had that tells me to take a different one every day for a bit of variety.  During […]

Day 89 #Project365

March 29, 2012 by [ayu]

A mad dash just before dinner brought me to this corner. My kids were playing outside as the sun was about to set that’s how I noticed the beautiful color in the sky. Well, only a glimpse of it, because the houses across the street were completely blocking the view. So I grabbed the car keys and driving westward just to find a bit of field/empty space so I could see my orange clouds properly. One suburb down they I […]

Day 70 #Project365

March 10, 2012 by [ayu]

It’s probably the only Saturday in a year when I force myself to get off the bed before 7 and proceed on waking the rest of the family from their deep slumber of weekend nights. Yes. It’s not easy, but somebody has to do it. In celebration of her birthday, Canberra holds their annual Canberra Hot Air Balloon Festival for a week in March. We don’t take a ride on it we are just there as happy spectators a moment […]

Day 11 #Project365

January 11, 2012 by [ayu]

It’s the middle of summer in Canberra, and it’s been windy and cold since morning. Someone even said that the temperature will drop to 6 degrees tonight. Yes, this summer night. It’s the coldest January in 6 years. Oh, did I mention the cold rain?

Back to Misty Lake

August 1, 2011 by [ayu]

After a month of craziness, I was back on the lake ready for my morning run around the lake with Bruno, my dog. The mist was extremely thick, the temperature only reached 1 degree when we got there. The view was amazing. And spooky a bit. I was distracted by all the silhouette of trees, the whiteness of the mist, and reflection on the water, but yes, I did manage a 5K+ of running. The sun finally came out […]
